i own a 4 door 50 merc which i would consider ALOT cooler and valuable than ALOT of 2 door cars that people build and seem to like. to each their own i reckon

Hit the nail on the head. I wouldn't buy one to build though, it takes as much work and money as a 2 door and fetches about 1/2 the money when you sell it, IF you can sell it.

i own a fordor 54 ford i bought it because i really wanted a old car !i loved the thought of driving something from the past and before my time and wondering the stories of the people that rode in it before me. i never really considered the doors untill i started going to car shows and noticed most of the sickest looking ones were two doors. i noticed in alot of the old dealer brochures the fordor's were the top of the line costing more then the todor's but i guess times have changed. i like the body styles of todor's better then fordor's but untill i got the funds or come across the right deal to get a decent todor im gonna pimp the fordor i got! Tim

 

I like brunettes and any old car I can get my hands on!LOL!

 

I just got mine earlier this year. Now I can't wait to drive the hell out of it this year.

I don't bash folks for having mordoors, sometimes that is all you can get. For myself I prefer 2 doors.

I used to cruise a 4-door...car was sweet....6cyl/three-on-the-tree....drove it everywhere...

 

prefer two, but nothing wrong with a more-door done up right.

Back in the mid '60s, nobody slammed 4 doors at my rural HS. So long as you were attempting to build something cool, nobody cared about the number of doors. What WOULD catch you hell were longroofs.....(Mama's Car) and pickup trucks were considered Hayseed Specials. I remeber dudes and dudettes who owned either but never drove them to school. A good friend of mine had a NICE '60 Ramber Classic Wagon that he drove to work but never set foot on the school until the day before graduation in '68.

Damn, now I feel like I've been ripped off pretty bad after I had my '60 NewYorker "taxi/donorcar" hauled across the pond to my garage.

I only bought this '60 NY just because I missed out on the 1960 Chrysler 300-F convertible being for sale nearby...
The body-lines of a 2-dr are definitly better, but on my car I like the chrome trim around the side-windows, which takes away a piece of that 4-dr look IMO. Not much but a little. I still like a 4-dr HardTop better though.
It's the big fins that did it for me with this car.

 

red, but the carpet's gotta match the drapes.
and she's gotta have a 2 dr....

 

I'm very happy with my 4 door. If I wanted a 2 door I would have gotten a pickup truck.
