I have a chance to purchace this 51 Merc. Not sure what these cars are worth these days.
-All stock, Flathead motor runs and sounds smooth, Body is straight. The rocker panels and lower front fenders are RUSTY. The floors are good and rust free. Rear P/S has some bondo. Interior is complete but old. Car is missing nothing. This car runs and drives.

    Thanks for the help

First of all, it's a 1950, not a 1951. This suggests there may be title problems. However, a car like this is probably worth in the 5 figure area, given no title problems.

  3. Running,drivable,'50 Coupe,low rust......i'd say 12-15k. Wouldn't pay more than that.

I sold My 51 with no interior and no engine and needing a lot of work 20 years ago for 4,000 that was the cash in hand offer from the buyer. That one looks to be worth double what mine was at the time i sold it and up around what the others mentioned previously.
Like 32,34 and 36 Fords they ain't cheap no matter what shape they are in.

As Mr48chev said. But I always wondered why the 35 isn't on that list? I had a 33 3W now have a 34 5W along with my 35 5W. Not greedy just a lot of projects. The Merc being a 2 door would be nice as a stocker and they usually bring in the 10K range!

Thanks for the info. I really wasn't looking for another car but 50 Mercs don't show up that often. The owner is a really nice guy. He thinks its worth 12 to 15k. Just like "Bad Bob said" Then there is the question of "Can I have an old merc at my house and not chopp it"?
