Technical What's Going On In Your Combustion Chamber? (Part 2)

A couple of months ago I posted a video showing what goes on in a combustion chamber during the ignition process. It was interesting to watch but the video quality was somewhat lacking.

So here's a more recent high-speed video shot with newer equipment more clearly showing the combustion chaos happening thru a glass cylinder head on an engine running pump gas, alcohol and acetylene.

 

Very interesting. I am experiencing some pretty bad backfires but I think that has a lot to do with the burrito I had for dinner!
