Whats best to clean seat belt with?

This is on my OT 96 chevy truck daily driver but can apply to any old belt.

Has any one found anything that makes cleaning old grungy belts easy? Mine in the truck are a light gray almost silver and are beginning to get a little grungy. I would like to clean them the best I can. I have tried a couple things but have had no luck so far.

Also, I was worried about using anything harsh. Will the seat belt material break down or weaken if I use the wrong cleaner?

maybe a steam cleaner, if you know, or have a steam cleaner for carpets. It will clean any fabric, either nylon or whatever without destroying the material

 

Simple green works great.

409, or simple green and a stiff brush.

And if it does how do you get the WD40 smell out of the truck?

 

Simple Green it is not harsh and take almost any stain out of just about everything give it a try
