Hey dudes-- I'm here because I'm a car-guy. Sure, I love the rotary engine (I've put 'em in VWs, spitfires, MGBs Porsches, etc, I've built turbo's, supercharged 3-rotors, you name it) BUT... I've got a stock '28 Model A Special Coupe, I'm building a dual-quad 455 riviera boat-tail, a teardrop trailer, and I hope to soon start a Packard straight-8 speedster. So....... anybody have the guts to build a rotary-powered T-bucket? Light, Fast, Smoooooth... Maybe I can help!
Another Mazda guy My current project car is a Miata. Though I am looking for something different to get back into the hot rod scene. I have enjoyed wrenching on and modifying the Miata but I do look forward to getting back into old American iron.
Welcome from Indy. May not find much love for the rotor on here. BUT....I can still hear Terry Hords car screaming down the track in Div III at Edgewater In Cincy! NOTHING sounded like it.
I used to race rotarys on a dirt track here in cal, built some scca stuff. There was a guy that used to show up in the Paso Robles Cruise that had a hot rod with a blown 80ci.
I always wanted to put one in my dune buggy. I'd just be happy if my dune buggy still ran though, it's sat so long that everything is locked up now.
Hmmm.... I'd dig a hot turboed rotary with a 5 speed in my '27 T roadster. Are you donating it? Welcome!
Rotarys sound funny and then I have to ask - are they Traditional ? Well what do I know I have a Cummins Diesel in the 48 truck. Any photos of the Teardrop ? Welcome to the HAMB.
