Thank you, I appreciate that. It stopped me in my tracks. I had to stop (in traffic) to get the
shot. It's close to where I live, outside of Chicago, Illinois.

One of our good customers came by with his 47 Ford. We rebuilt the starter and generator on the flat head. It's running Edmonds heads Offy intake and a Columbia two speed. 20170901_142443.jpg 20170901_142327.jpg 20170901_142312.jpg

Too many gearheads, including rodders, have trouble picking a good looking rim.

Its the era of the full-size Hotwheel it seems...
I can just imagine they threw out those boring steel wheels with old bias plys. The upside somebody might of got them at a good price.

Had some old cars take a tour through our historical village today.
This Benz was the cats ass.
1913 all original and full of road grime.

The thing is, it's not just the "Hot Wheels" or Donk type wheels. Guys still have the cheap ass
chrome steel wheels with gold centers and holes punched in them, turbine wheels, and even
smoothies. I could possibly get some grief about the smoothies but they just don't have the same
look as a good old chrome (reversed) wheel with either a baby moon or a poverty cap. Most of
us know that the choice of a wheel can make or break a particular vehicle.

I don't think the fellow running that dealership is a Hamber...that's for sure so tradition/cool to him is well a personal thing. hope that's where it ends and yes wheels certainly do account for the look in a big way.

drove by a mechanics garage on my lunch break, and I could have sworn I was looking at one of those cliched paintings of a garage. There was a 63 Vette, and a 40 Ford coupe up on the hoists, and a late 40s-early 50s Caddy parked off to one side, and a beat up Chevy muscle car parked on the other side.
