  1. That '40 Plymouth coupe doesn't look THAT rough to me. I want it.

    Beautiful car, Bones.
I have to ask what it is. I'm afraid to say Dodge. LOL.

    Hello,

While driving through a South OC neighborhood visiting friends, yesterday, I came upon a bright red flash as I drove on a crossing street. Going around the block, paid off as there was a very cool scene going on down the street. There was a bright red family tow vehicle and behind it was something that was very well done. But, has not been seen in this area.

The trailer was holding a bright red 4 door 1924 Ford sedan that had Fire Chief on the side. Upon closer inspection, the hood lettering said DETROIT F.D. The gold lettering was pretty nice. So, was the paint. The sedan was pristine and stood out from a long way down the street.

Detroit? That is a long way from home. But the odd thing was, the house across the street from this particular one had a mishap years ago. The fire burned the garage, the front of the house and had to be rebuilt. Here is the Fire Chief parked in front of the house across the street that had burned and for some So Cal vacation time or a show of some kind. Ironic?

Nearby in the neighborhood, was a Mercury Comet convertible that had a motor built up and could be heard anytime he fired it up. When that convertible drove down the quiet streets, everyone knew the idling sound. People definitely remembered the sound when he accelerated away. Would this old Ford sedan have a stock motor or one that makes the same high performance sound? The Fire Chief does have to get to the fire on time…

I’m not sure , but he had a tag on it that said 33 Royal 8. Might be a clue for some of you car sleuths. I’m thinking something General Motors?

It's been said here that if we don't know what a car is, it must be a Dodge... LOL. But when I see the Chrome grill and the suicide doors, and I know it's not a Ford, I do think Mopar. But the three windows threw me.
    I love a 1933 Dodge.
I might like the Chrysler even better!
    Beautiful car.

That’s In Lexington, KY. Ironically, I just returned from San Diego. Wish I lived there, beautiful place. I usually stay in Del Mar when I’m out there.

My mom used to have a timeshare right across from Del Mar racetrack. Really handy during Goodguys. There's a really good event calendar you can subscribe to at www.goodoleboyssandiego.com. Some of his other emails get a little political for my tastes at times, but I just ignore those. Think he was splitting his list into a car stuff list and an other list. Do you come down the I-15 or across the I-8? If your coming in on the 8, your passing about a 1/8 mile from my place in Alpine, Ca. I swear that car used to be from here. I do know a couple of people who have left here for Kentucky lately.
