Technical What year is this Mercury instrument cluster?

    I found this Mercury instrument cluster at the Turlock swap meet this past weekend and not sure what year Mercury came from and model. 20200622_121355.jpg 20200622_121425_HDR.jpg

  3. Not a car part, that's out of a boat.... That's not a speedometer, it's a tach.

    thats what i was thinking. ive search Google and cant find it in a car.

    i saw that one too. Also a Pontiac gauge cluster thats close as well.

  8. So it's pretty obvious that someone was supplying these to the various boat manufacturers, with a dial face change to match. Next question, just who made these? Stewart Warner? Or somebody else? Should be a manufacturer mark on it somewhere.

    My first thought a model A speedometer went to 75.

    The back side looks like GM gauges from the 40s, so the Pontiac clue must be useful...look what I found.

    Likely that they got them from GM. Mercury Marine got GM parts for a long long time.

    thanks buddy. So maybe i can remove the white lettering for the tach 5,10,20,etc.. and change it to 10,20,30,40, and use it in my build.

    The calibration might be off, but yeah, you could do that. Or leave it all alone, and really confuse people!

    btw, no odometer.
