I was running around in a '69 El Camino that was running Blazer 4 WHD running gear under the El Camino frame connected to a stock 454 - 42" Super Swampers - called it my Land Shark.

Exactly 25 years ago. SF bay area (east bay), 1984. I worked at Ace Hardware, hence the shirt.

Some fuckwad stole the top trim off of my windshield one night while I was at my girlfriend's house. Yeah, I replaced it.

More like 32 yrs ago. Back in '77, my sister blew thru a divorce and got this '57 from her ex. I traded her a '68 VW auto stick Beetle for it.

When I got it, it had air shocks and big L60s on the back and wire spokes all 'round. I had this big idea of restoring it to original. Big mistake. I didn't know what the hell I was doing.

After the rebuilt 283 almost blew up, I wound up trading it for a '74 LTD 4dr. Brougham..

Funny thing, at the time my Pop was driving a '72 Gran Torino 4 dr. and here his snot-nosed kid had a better ride than him...

It was a "Q" car with NO ram air and the tiny emblems it surprised many a bowtie owner.

But eventually I added the scoop and ram air to move up to E stock in F sometimes there was nobody to compete with.

But with the 4.30 differential engine speed was about 3500 at 55 mph made long distance driving a chore.

People would jump back when the detroit locker decoupled in a parking lot tight turn.
