  1. I got this piece of excrement for less than a grand. Not cheap for me but cheap by todays standards.

I'm too old to remember things from years past...lol. But about 6 months ago I was moving my daughter out of her apartment and a guy pushing a shopping cart with cans loaded in it was passing by.

I'd just got there and in the bed of my truck was several beer cans, I told the guy to hop up and grab them, he did, walked back up to me with this big assed wrench in his hand, first thing that came to my mind was "fuck, I just gave this guy some recyclable shit, now he's gonna jack me?"
He holds the wrench out and says "will you take this for the cans?"

    1-1/2 Proto box wrench.

I gotta get out more, or less?

    Anyone mention their Ex-wife yet?

Bought a pristine 32 dash for $20 last year at a swap meet. Guy thought it was an old pick up dash.
Was given two 4'x6' sheets of 1/8" brass about ten years ago when scrap prices were sky high. At the time I was building my 32 sedan and the proceeds paid for the set of five classic instruments gauges.

  19. Got this 1965 Dodge truck for free when a buddy needed it moved. I drove it for two years. Every time it started to sputter, I rotated the spark plugs and it ran like a champ for two or three weeks and then I would do it all over again. Picture 2867.jpg

One of my dad's good friends gave my the start to my new project, a 53 Morris Minor and a 63' 283 with matching Powerglide. The freebies are good but sometimes you have to exchange some money so I traded around and ended up with 5 bucks in this cool steering wheel. 20191202_145717.jpg

  24. Was looking in the Sunday want ads back in the 80s and saw an ad for 4, American Racing wheels for $80. I rushed right over to the address and the lady said I was the first to answer the ad. By the time I got the money outta my pocket, there were several cars pulling up to the house. Sorry, she told them...wheels are sold as I was loading them into my El Camino. It was a set of 15X8.5 Torque thrusts. I sold one pair to a buddy and the other pair was on about 5 cars of mine....let 'em go with my sedan delivery and regretted it ever since. I just bought another pair a few months ago but had to pay $400!!!!! deliveryN48chev.jpg

Ordered some stuff from J C Whitney years ago. On thing in the box was a complete cam and kit which checked out to be a copy of the L-79. It was one number off what I ordered. Never sent it back and still have it.

I was at a nearby swap meet and was just visiting with an old gentleman. And he asks, would you want to by an old car grill for $10? I asked to see it. He pulls a 1942 Ford grill out of the back of his van. Olive drab green (military) and in prefect condition. Done deal. Two month later I sold the grill on the H.A.M.B. for $425 to some nice guy in Canada. He said he couldn't fix his old one for $425
