Here's my ride in the 70's. First car, first girl. One of them I wish I still had! :D

"The Silver Bullet" 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX.

This Hemi-powered GTX became the most feared warrior on the Detroit street-racing scene during the early 1970s.
    Motivated by a hulking 487-inch Hemi,the Bullet was a mid-10-second street car, running 10.60s at 132 mph.

The car from the movie "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot". That was a great movie!

A couple random 'net pics. I assume they're B&W for newsprint purposes.

    Tough choice...

  9. Sunfighter,
The fat tire thing hung on forever. Some of what we thought died in the '70s carried over for a long time and I believe that they actually stared to be in vogue in the later '60s.

I have come back and looked that your truck and jandlecar's truck several times. I am a truck person more than a car person I think. Your truck looks like it should be in New York delivering vegetables.

Less the wood fenders and fat tires from that angle it could fit in here real well.

I was born in the 70's and I remember many rear-up Novas. One of my best friends dad referred to 68-74 novas as hippie cars. I can remember my neighbor putting adding air to his air shocks on his 71 charger, watching it go up and thinking wow!
I went to my old hometown swimming pool yesterday(father's day with my boys). I spent a lot of my 80's youth there. All the lifeguards had cars, trucks and stuff done to personalize them whether paint, wheels, so forth. Today no one does anything them but drive them. Imagine most HS parking lots are the same. Kinda sad.

My grandmother had a 74 buick apollo. The buick version of the nova. I wanted that car bad back when I was 12-14. I wanted to put some crager sst's on it and lift the back, 2 tone black and gold. She sold it when I was right at 15. I was disappointed.

I was born in 72 but the one car that my dad had made a lasting impression on me. It was a 70 Cuda 340ci 4-speed car that was b-5 blue with Cragers. The rear tires were so wide no one could ride in the back seat without them rubbing.
