Like tech stuff. I don't know how fast the car would be but is there some kind of rule book for the drags? it would be full bodied car some where from the mid 50's to the early 60's. Thanks.
Pretty simple... just basic safety stuff. As long as you pass tech you can run. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you are. As long as its pre 65 you are golden.
I do have a job. But your the one who got me to thinking. I know its suppose to be pre 65 but passing tech is what I'm talking about..
God I hope there was some sort of tech... Ok... just make sure it is pre-65 and don't stage next to me. For safety sake... there are a lot of things you should do. Make sure you aren't leaking any fluids. You need a radiator overflow bottle of some sort. Two throttle return springs are nice, just in case. Make sure the battery is held down secure. Lots of tracks like you to have side glass in place and rolled up. Just use your head. If you look at something and it looks scary, you might want to fix it.
One more question and it maybe kinda stupid but are all the tracks that the drags are held at 1/4 mile or are they 1/8th mile? The track we race on down here in LA (Lower Arkansas) is 1/8th mile. So I'm just wondering so I can figure the gearing for the tracks.
and FYI, the HAMB drags have only been held at one track, Mokan. how do you say it in code, um, they're not exactly the strictest track for tech! the track was mentioned in a recent Hot Rod or Car Craft as a "place to go", the mag mentioned their tech inspection as well, so it seems to be no secret.
As far as I know, there is only one HAMB Drags per year and it has always been at Mo-Kan, so there aren't "tracks." Mo-Kan is neither an NHRA nor IHRA track, so they pretty much use common sense rules. That doesn't mean you can run an unsafe car, but it does mean that if the car looks safe, it can run. Check the track web page for their safety rules: http://www.mokandragway.com/rules/
