Hot Rods What kind of car is this?

I would like to build a model of this car. What kind of car is this? It is supposed to be driven by Dan Gurney. Does anyone know where and when this pix was taken. What color is the car and wheels? Does anyone have more pixs of it? TIA

Possibly a 28/9 Model A roadster sporting a Deuce shell. HRP

 

I am going to guess '28 Ford roadster due to the lack of door handles. But it could be a '29 that was shaved. Could be the dry lakes but judging from the amount of stuff sticking to the car, I would guess Bonneville. Must have been around '49 or so. Very early meet.

 

Yes, 28-29 Ford roadster. You can still buy these kits. I have two on the shelf (built).

It's a pretty conventional post war dry lake racer. If you went to El Mirage this week end you would see cars that haven't changed much from when that picture was taken.

 

Anyone know Dan's number?
I know he was a salt racer back in the stone age.
