Trying to piece together a 1953 Olds. Car came without a starter, so I bought one, which came without a solenoid, so I bought that as well. Now I am looking for the arm piece that connects the two. Any idea what it is called and where I can buy one?
Whoa! I'll bet that will take some digging, although some HAMBer likely has 2 stashed away. There was an aticle in Hemmings about old Olds parts suppliers. I only have a link to part 2, but you can probably find part one as well if you search. Good luck. https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/hmn/2013/04/Oldsmobile-Suppliers--Part-2/3724621.html
Not sure but if you do some research you might find that this will fit your application even though you car is not listed... https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1949-1...257470&hash=item3d3c0f209a:g:miMAAOSwR29ZFiaj
Find an old auto electric shop in your area and take your starter with you. Show them what you have and any old shop worth their salt will fix you up in a jiffy.
Starter drive shift lever. Maybe someone here has an old Delco or Oldsmobile parts catalog. GM parts group 2.108.
My how things change. Back not to long ago when when doing a rebuilt exchange like this, that part was always with the new starter. At the counter when talking to the parts Guy it was always with or without solenoid, in other words complete or just solenoid delete. The Wizzard
