Put a Gold Wing engine in it and head for the salt flats! Or make it into BBQ and head for the salt flats. Or just put it in the truck and head for the salt flats. Do we detect an underlying theme here?

That's what I was thinking. We will all be jalous as hell and I bet you could build it for $49,000 less and be just as cool if not cooler than those dudes with the modified bumpercar atv thingies.

Buy it, and mount it to a hydralic arm as a ride for the kids.

  9. If I found that there'd be no question who the next owner would be. I love it. Add me to the mini belly tank list. I'd use a sportster engine for fun but, a 5 hp Briggs would be a lot easier, safer for a kid to drive and more practical. Lastly, despite the fact it'd have 4 wheels, I'd have to paint it up like old Bert Munro's World's Fastest Indian. Then I'd have to build a trailer for it and pull it around behind the cool T-Bucket in your avatar.

It's a fuel tank from a plane. On the side you see with the brackets, there's a filler tube, and on the bottom, there are removeable plugs and a bung. But no matter what, it's cool....buy it.

I was thinkin the same thing- if you look at those brackets they are shaped like an airfoil. I just can't figure out why it has a seat. Maybe someone was gonna make a sidecar or go cart at one time and just never finished?

  13. Build this out of it.....

Flip it around front to back, fab up the "axle" extensions on the other side, throw a small engine/chain drive in the rear and have a blast.

I'm thinking that somebody post WWII saw a bunch of these surplus tanks and made a carny ride out of them. Might be more out there. Maybe different ones. Maybe an aluminum P38 tank. See how my mind works. I need to talk to these people. They were closed when I went by.

  22. It's an escape pod from the Roswell UFO found a few years after the original UFO crash, about 100 miles away. The occupant had survived and blended into society as Ross Peroit. I'd motorize it, paint it satin brown and call it the flying space turd.:D

COME CLEAN!!! You already bought it didn't you? Your just coming here for validation and some reasons to tell the little woman why you bought it. Time to man up and get used to spending the night on the couch for a week or so.
OR........... buy her a dozen roses and take her out to dinner. The dozen roses can be replaced with her current "gotta have" that makes no sense to you.

Your partially right. I didn't want to say it but she was with me when I first saw it. Her first comment "What do you want with that thing" It wouldn't mean a divorce but a shake of the head and "the look" But no I haven't got it yet and I am looking for validation and it seems I have gotten it. I do have an new entrance door to install in the house. Maybe that will help. I did buy an old car a while back without telling her then asked her if she was mad. Her response "Not mad, disappointed" Worse than mad.
