I have run metal line all the way back to both of my gas tanks, main and auxiliary and I have to run a shut off valve between the tank and the metal line. What is the best non metal line that I can use that will work with this ethanol fuel and hold up.
Normal modern rubber fuel line that is designed for Fuel Injection seems to work fine. It is stiffer than non FI hose, and costs more, but it doesn't break down.
Gates Greenshield. http://www.gates.com/products/autom...l-system/barricade-carburetion-fuel-line-hose
I used the fuel injection rubber hose that NAPA sells. They call it Barricade, it has several layers of high tech stuff that resists the deteriorating effects of ethanol. It's about $4 to $5/foot. Be sure and use the recommended clamps.
I have had very good results with Gates Barricade when using clamp type nipples, and Aeroquip sockless hose when used with-06AN fittings.
The word you are looking for is "Nitrile". If you are shopping for a fuel hose make sure it is a Nitrile rubber compound.
I forgot the cost difference but it was significant by buying a whole roll (25' I think) at one time from Advance. My great parts guy gave me the tip. Now I've always got some on hand when I need it... unless I forget where I put it!
From what im told if it says 30R9 on it its good for ethenol. Last time i bought some from advance they didnt have any that wasnt
I agree on FI hose. It won't break down even in direct sunlight like the crappy rubber hoses they sell now.
