Well, you build pretty quickly. So you'll have an another one done before the summer if you get the new one.For me,starting it all over again is out of question.I think i'll do something else when my project is done.

I dont know about that if i get another one its gonna be a real rust bucket so it will take time and involve alot of work, Your car is gonna be fantastic when finished you seem to have alot more patience than i have for details.

Well, i did sell/trade the shoebox for a Harley Panhead that i have built this winter in a 60/70s chopper style. I know it is not maybe hamb friendly but i actually love old choppers and it was a great oppurtunity for me to get a Panhead so i could not say no. Planing on build another shoebox or maybe a Mercury but we expecting a little baby soon so time will tell
The only old Ford i have now is the F1 and its great to haul bikes and so.

Here is the Panhead as it looks now:

Thats a clean looking Panhead you got there!
Usually bikes built in 60's style looks like that owner has eaten wrong kind of mushrooms for breakfast:D

Very nice panhead! You do good work sir.Is that an electric leg I see behind the trans?Antti except for the -68 type oil pump , electric starter and S&S carb(or air cleaner) that is a very typical early 60s chopper.I think I also see a 65 -69 timer with centrifugal advance. Later in the decade you started to get some really strange shit, but that is a proper motorcycle.Dlandberg if I were you I would either change the copper oil lines or if you must use them put a short piece of rubber hose on one end.If you use them with the flare fittings copper WILL break from vibration.I sat on the side of Nova road at 2 AM in march 1968 from that very thing.

Thanks guys! That you see and think is a electric starter is the original ignition switch that i have relocated no electric starters on real choppers.... Trans and engine are matching -49 FL Panhead. S&S oil pump and carburator and the ignition is a mallory electronic ignition so not so right there.... And i have used cooper lines for oil on all my choppers i buildt and never had any problem i dont run flare fittings i run swagelock fittings and soft copper pipes never take any damage from vibrations.

Kickstart only- good for you! I have seen so many of those aftermarket electric start setups mounted there that I made an assumption.I had to look real hard after you told me to recognize the early ignition switch, dont think I ever saw one mounted there.Your 4 fin timing cover is in very nice condition,is it an original 54-64 style or one of the new aftermarket ones? BTW-what is a swagelock fitting? I have never heard that name.

I guess i've seen those swageloks before, but i cant remember seeing them on bikes.Maybe on some industrial crap or on drag racing cars..
Well, kickstart only could be cool, but thats not an option for me.I had a nasty accident with bike almost 13 yrs ago and my kickstart leg is still slightly fucked up.
It doesnt effect much of my life nowadays, but just cant do all the tricks i used to do.

Yeah kickstart sucks sometimes when the shit dosent start and you have to kick 100 times!but i try to keep the old stuff in decent shape then they often start 1st kick if they happy...Then it is nice to have the pushbutton superglide to! Sorry to hear about your acident no fun to have something scar you for life!

They are very usable if you want a fitting that will never break or leak once they are tightened!

Shoebox is home! More pics to come but here are a few. The car has chevy 350 engine and trans, 8 inch rearend, Nova discbrakes up front and drives like a champ!! Must change front springs it is to low so there is no clearence and no suspension travel! Really happy with the car overall

Thank you guys, really glad for all support from you was out in the shop now and put it on the lift, dident get on the lift without having some longer ramps the car was so low in the front!! Disambled left side spring and shock but to my suprise the spring was not cut so much i thought but i belive the chevy engine and trans weight a little more than a flathead so that makes the car lower to. Have uncut springs left from the 49 that im going to mount then i think its driveable for some test! More to come tomorrow!!

This is what the car looked liked before, someone seen it on some carshow in the us many years ago? Also trying to find out what car/cars the front overrider and middlepart of the grill comes from? When i had just seen it on picture i belived it was a 1951 Ford grill that had been modified but it dosent seems acurate now in real. The hood is 1951 Ford.
