  5. When i built my rpu 30 years ago i didn't have a garage realy. Lived in a apartment. Working in a body shop i just brought parts to work and worked on them when it was slow. Got to the point i need one to assemble the rpu and rented a shack, then a friends garage for awhile eventualy rented a tiny house with a pos garage.
Fast forward 30 years. Got my own house, small double. Store a 70 Torino, RPU, one motorcycle. One bike had to go in the house. Ran out of room.

  7. ...my shop is 20x26 feet; always filled with too much"junk"; but it gets the job done. Here's one of my favorite shop pics from a few years back when it didn't have so much junk in it.

NO garage, NO carport, just a driveway and open sky.

My tiny carriage house has been home to HOT ROD CENTRAL LOUVER CO. for almost twenty years. It's a single car garage that originally housed a buggy, with a couple of additions that housed the horse and feed about a century ago. Now the "big" bay is home to my personal '29 roadster pick up, the small bay is my louver press room, and the small horse room is storage and compressor. Customer chassis are built out front under the relatively permanent canopy over the drive. Cool thing is, this is all in my back yard away from the prying eyes of my neighbors and the historic preservation commission.

  13. Didn't "build" the truck, but did swap from a flathead six to big block mopar in this garage... unfortunately, it wasn't deep enough to get more than 2/3 of the truck in, but I was able to attach a come-along to the header over the door, and lift the engines with that.

And, at least I had a lockable place to put my tools and parts. Now, all I've got is a parking lot.

I have a two car garage with a harley my model a a blasting cabniet snapon tool box shelves full of parts a 4x6 metal table a band saw air compressor, drill press another work bench and some cabniets. Pretty soon ill be adding a bridge port and a lathe. Kinda sucks but you do what you gotta do.

Here is the space I am building mine in. The biggest pain is the fact that the driveway is quite sloped so I can't even push it out to give myself more room to work.

My two car garage has room for my Buick Wagon at 19 1/2 ft long and not much else. The rest of the space has 3 chrome racks with wheels from Costco to maximize use. When I need more space I can just roll them out of the way.

This is some inspiring stuff as I just went from a 2 1/2 car garage to no garage. Going to put up some kind of carport / shed / overhang thing, but I'm still trying to decide what.

In my case, a '27 T roadster is being built in a very crowded garage.

I want to see pictures of that build! Talk about inspiring!

My garage is 19x9 and I've been working at making it into a usable shop with a workbench, my industrial sewing machine, a mill/lathe (soon), a drill press, air compressor and enough room to build a car. We'll see! :D

Mine may not be the smallest but it's pretty tiny.
