I bought this with some old speed parts today. The seller didn't know what it fits, and neither do I.

The cam-to-crank centerlines are farther apart than on a rat motor, and the water pump mounts are closer together.

If anyone has an old Weiand catalog, the lettering on the inside reads "W C F P".

That's BITCHIN'!!! Exactly what I was was talking about in my Zen post. I would love one of those for a small-block Chevy.

I have the same one on my old Dragster 354 cu in. Chrysler, I do not think it will fit a 392.

As far as I know you cannot run a water pump with this it is for Drag only. But yes it will fit a 331.

As I understand it, this piece will fit a 331 or a 354, but not a 392. Right?

There's some corrosion on the inside of the mounting flange between the water pump mounting bolt holes, so it may have been used on a drag boat.

Thanks very much. I appreciate the help.

I'll never use this, so if anyone has some neat old speed parts to trade for it, please send me a PM. I would offer this and some cash for some finned aluminum valve covers for an Olds 394, or an original '32 Ford front axle.

You could always trim the ears and run a water pump.

  13. Dave. That looks like a marine application for a early hemi in my humble opinion. Water outlets being the giveaway. I may be wrong. I have one of those without the water outlets that looks just like that for my 354. Should fit 392 as well. They can be used with spacers to adapt a big block chevy water pump.

  14. I doubt its a marine part, they almost always run a water pump because unlike drag racing, they tend to run for a longer length of time. I'm going to say its just a plain old 51-54 331 hemi passenger car water cover. David

51-53 has the single bolt @ 12 o'clock, but it looks like it could be drilled @ 11 & 1 oclock to fit the later blocks. Good score!:D
