    I came home from the hospital in a '67 Cougar GT - red/black , 390 , 4-speed - folks bought it new in Hawaii a couple years earlier .
My daughter got to ride in my old-school-styled Volvo (my avatar at left) . Hard to believe it's been a bit over a year already ...

she still loves to ride in it , BTW :)

I can't remember that far back, but I know my parents bought an '83 Shelby Charger brand new, so that's most likely the car I was brought home in in June, '84. It was a real lemon POS FWD 4-banger of a car. They should have bought the new '83 RWD 6-banger Datsun, hehe.

My grandpa was brought home in a Model T. I was surprised to hear he was even born in a hospital.

October of '56, I came home in a pale yellow '55 Pontiac Chieftain. My mom sideswiped the passenger side, but we drove it that way for several years. I don't know why...

1950 Olds 88 Business coupe with the "Export" kit. Orange with wide whites. Dad worked for Pullman Motors in Wenatchee, WA, at the time. Was supposed to be the fastest car in the valley, at least according to my uncles and Grandma! Oh, and the state patrol as well. I still remember watching dad repainting it in about '60, in a booth at the Chevy dealer in Ellensburg, WA. It was then sold and replaced with a '61 Poncho Ventura with a 4 speed. After mom spun it out thru an alfalfa field (she was saying her prayers on the way to work at a country school and a school bus stopped in front of her- I don't think she's done that since.....). Then, yeah, I'm getting windy, it was replaced with a '64 Ford wagon that had been an Air Force ambulance at the SAC base in Moses Lake. must have been a hot rodder ordering it because it came with a 4 speed/427/dual 4 combo. Dad said it would pass anything but a gas station....funny how all these hot cars disappeared when I turned 16.

66 GTO 389 4 speed 4:33 posi rear . that was may of 74 and was sold a few months later because of the gas crunch and to get a more " family friendly " car . the old man sold it to a group of migrent farm workers who had pooled their money........a shoe box containing 800 bucks and no bill bigger than a 20 !

My Dad had just re-enlisted in the Air Force and was given a $5000 bonus for doing so. My parents spent $3500 on the '72 Rally Nova (350 / 3 speed on the column) pictured and the rest on bills etc... Anyway, that's my Mom and my cousin in the picture. I wasn't born for another couple of months. I can remember riding around town, standing up in the front seat of this car!

1949 Hudson Super Six sedan. My dad actually drove my mom to the hospital in the car as well.

My younger brother came home in a 1937 Hudson Touring sedan. My sister came home in a Nissan Sentra and she still holds it against our dad:D

1936 Ford Business Coupe, blue, hot flathead, sold soon after my birth due to a lack of space for the new infant. Dad also had a non-running Model A Pickup stashed behind the garage during my single-digit years, but sold it before I was old enough to care. Wish I had had the opportunity to own both.

  25. Not really sure what my first ride was as both of my parents have passed away but I suspect it was a late 40's Plymouth Cranbrook.

I brought my twin girls home in a 1954 Ford Ranch Wagon.

My first granddaughter came home in a 1939 Ford convertible and I took my grandson home in a 1932 ford 4-door.

Sadly my most recent granddaughter with a hot rod pioneer name,,Veda went home in her mothers Ford explorer,,I really wanted to drive her home in the 32 roadster,,,but I was overruled by everyone. :( HRP

39 Desoto 4 door sedan in Feb 54.As I understand it it had a deep rear package tray like the old VW bugs so that was my "car bed"Remember when "car beds " were thought the only safe way to transport your infant!

1967 Fairlane 500XL 2dr hardtop. Frost blue. Dad still has it and he bought it new. He worked at the ford garage when he fell in love with it after he unloaded it off the transport. Said when he first seen it on the transport he knew he had to have it.
