3 1/2" diameter and 1/4" thick made of pewter...obviously a Silver Anniversary medallion of some sort but does anyone know what it was used for.

    Guesses so far...
1: Part of a dealership plaque (my guess)
2: Glove box lid emblem (my wifes guess, too heavy though)
3: Early road rage weapon (my sons guess)

    ....?

Looks to me something that might be handed out as a promotional item. It's pretty cool looking.

Looks like a grille badge, like you might see on a Mercedes or other European car, although I don't know how it would mount (or where on a '49 Chrysler)

Is the back side smooth with traces of glue or felt(coaster), threaded screw holes or other possible mounting holes(medallion for desk pen set or award plaque)?

It has a lip like it was recessed into something else...wood?...brass....who knows?

I thought it could be lead by the weight of the thing but it shines up like a lead pewter, & damn it's heavy.

  12. If you want to sell it lemme know.. it would look cool on my 50 coronet with 49 coronet parts....
