Washington blue like my car.....It's an old Ford color, and I've seen it on a 32.......Gotta be shiny......no satin or suede.....

    Shiny is the new satin/suede.......

Yes...I agree NO FAKE PATINA! PLEASE!...Too many so called "suede" cars aswell . You dont want the car to be referred to as a rat rod " God damn, I'll be glad when that term dies and goes to hell!" If it is a traditional car...someone already said go to Google and look up old paint chips...tons of bithchin colors. What about Corvette Marina or Nassau blue? 1940 Ford has a super cool gray if you like gray. Don Garlits has one in the museum the exact color. If your suspension is black as well as the frame and wheels...you cant go wrong. Dont do the "bomber" seats...that has been done to death as well. Just my 2 cents.

  11. White or black
oops one of these is all colors and the other is the abscence of all color .. Don't remember which is which

    grey it is

How about a good dark red? Burgandy-ish and shiny. It'll go great with your seat and it's different than black (which i also like, for the record.) I also like the dark blue idea.

Was this the only good idea mentioned besides black and the dark Burgandy?

Can we see the car? Are there a great deal of louvers? These are all the thing that I think of when deciding color. Black looks best but is also a pain in the dick to keep swirls out of. Deep blue may be one of the most stunning colors on a Hot Rod or custom so I am definitely behind that. What era are you going for? Lots to think about. I mean, it's a fucking 3 Window '32!!!!

The body is in red gel coat. I cut out the firewall and put in a Brookville. I'm leaning towards silver with white firewall.

hot turkey.....the question is..."are you going to keep it or sell it?" if you are going to keep it, it is a lot harder to come up with a color.i changed my mind at least a hundred times because i knew i was going to keep it,and i didn't want a color that i would get tired of or just a trend of the times.it was observed by me after i sat and watched thousands of cars go by at eye level...i noticed that any car darker than red,you could see swirl marks in the paint,no matter how nice the paint job was..even high dollar cars.if they washed the car and then brought it in,you could see swirl marks, unless they buffed it before coming to the show.any color lighter lighter than red,i am sure the swirl marks were there, but you can't see them.if you are going to sell the car,it doesn't matter as much.it may sound anal to a lot of you,but as you are working on a car, blocking and blocking over and over again it becomes important after all that work.i ended up two toning my car, light on the bottom, dark on the top, just for that reason.

You should paint it Fake Bare metal and throw in the DA swirls for good measure! HAHAHAHAH!!! No seriously that was the stupidist thing I ever thought of and I can't believe I have not seen it yet.

What about a French Grey with a off white firewall?

Good move on swaping that fire wall out... Looks 100x's better. If it's a glass car, I say paint it Red Oxide and drive it.

search for '32 picture threads, and you are bound to see every color under the sun. Easy to compare them to each other as well!

Are your firewall feet installed backwards or are they just sitting there?

Ole Hot Turkey couldnt stand that plain firewall...the first time I ever saw a steel firewall put in a glass car but god-damn he did a helluva job as well as all his fabrication work...like a fucking scientist! Its going to be REAL nice reguardless of color. HEY, you should post some of the chassis pics!
