What bumpers should I run on my 49 Merc?

There are so many options but I don't really see many custom bumper threads. What do you guys Think looks good on the front and rear of a 49 Merc?

 

Are you going for any sort of specific look, or time period?

 

I'd like to keep the car as early 50's as I can. I'll be running a 54 kaiser floating bar and aside from that and my 56 olds wheel covers I plan on keeping everything early 50's. But I am completely open to options and ideas.

 

Well I really didn't get much feedback, so I just sectioned a 51 Buick rear bumper down and trimmed the heck out of my stock 49 overriders. I'm not set in stone on the bumper guards, but the plan is to put small round lights on the tit of the guards.
I didn't take many pictures of how I sectioned the bumper seeing how no one really seemed to care about "what bumper to run on the rear of a 49 Merc", But I ended up taking about 4" out of each side.

The way I left on Wednesday was the ticket dude. It looked incredible and was nice and simple.

 

Looks good ! Now ya gots to do something with the da license plate !!!!

 

I may look into running the stock 51 Buick bumper guards with the reverse lights in the lower portion of them So that I can pull my exhaust through them.
If anyone has a set that their not using I'd like to pick them up
