  5. Some of the fellas that broke big parts left... The rest must like the heat!

Great event and turnout but I left before sunset cause when the meat falls off the bone... you're done!

Glad to see many HAMBrs that I haven't seen for years... Most of the Restraining orders must have lapsed

Great show fellas. My family greatly enjoyed it. Next year I have to have my car done. I told myself I was going to take time to meet more people, but was to glued to the races. The few I did it was great talking to you

I can't begin to thank the Meltdown crew for organizing this outstanding event. Despite the heat I had a great time and I owe it all to the Meltdown crew, the Byron crew, and the many other racers you were lined up to help me. My digger wasn't very happy...thinking the mag is out...but there was so much action it didn't really matter. Some picts. from Saturday, my junk and my buddies killer Pontiac rail.

There were cool cars everywhere and I'm sure I missed photographing most of them but it's really the people who make this event special. A few more from Saturday.

A few more pics. The MDA gave me an award Friday....really unexpected, and really neat! Real Vintage Drag Racing Non Conformist Award.....since I hauled my car 1700 miles with my 57 Suburban...thanks, guys!

After my run last night, the temp gauge showed a bit high...and water was coming out the corner of the intake. I guess I'll pull it and see if it's just the gasket leaking.

  13. Kudos to all who made the meltdown happen! I was there all Saturday and it was hot and muggy. Those guys and gals who helped out need a standing ovation. What a great event.

Just watched the worlds fastest flathead puke the motor at top end of track & take out center cones, that was a close one to going ass over tea kettle...! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1437323606.567353.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1437323641.335391.jpg

Looked worse from the stands than it really was. Puked oil onto Joe's faceshield, couldn't see ,took out a cone. Plugs looked okay and motor spun over smoothly, so rings probably let too much compression past. 24lbs boost and 80% pop puts a stain on things!
Lifted off the line and still clocked a 7.92!!
Best part is everyone is safe.
    Great show, Meltdown crew!!!

Who was running the big nitro hemi after dark that did the big burnout? Man that thing sounded good, I didn't hear who it was? I have to applaud the night racing also. It appeared you drivers were beating them cars extra hard for us spectators. The folks that left early don't know what they missed.

My Uncle's first time at the meltdowns. He was like a kid at Christmas. He watched Arney in the 60's at a local track
