Thats right, we have a dragstrip again! after 25yrs as a private airport... It's grand opening is next weekend! (I'll unfortunatly miss it due to being in Joplin having a kickass time at the HAMB DRAGS), but I will be there in spirit, I totally support these hard working selfless guys who are putting this all together for ALL to enjoy! 08/23/08 Gates open @ 10A.M. Races start at 12 NOON and run till dusk! HEADS UP GRUDGE RACING and GAMBLERS RACE.. $25.00 entry for car and driver. $10.00 entry for specatators. NONprofit organization R.A.S.R. (Racers Against Street Racing I went out to the track this morning to check up on the progress and they were draging the track to make the sticky lanes and this evening will be laying the compound for Xtra stick!... Many people donated $$$ for the guard rails which are installed now and here is a couple of pix of me and PJ the (Pres of R.A.S.R.) and one of my donations, supporting another organization I love!
I know the HAMB logo isn't exact, the program they have for generating this stuff is limited, but the info is correct. Maybe I could get Ryan to whip me one up (2'X3') that's to his liking and bring it to me to the HAMB Drags. Then I could bring back with me to have it installed in time for the next West Kentucky Drags get together...
Good to hear this kinda news. We need more dragsrips and race tracks. This makes safe places to test the limits of our abilities.
