Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Texas Webb, Aug 26, 2011.

  1. Is it importent to weld plates 100% top and bottom or ok to weld a 1-2 inch stitch every 2-3 inches.I will weld in diff locations so as not to put to much heat on it,it's a 31 A frame.Thanx.

I'd weld it all the way. What's to be gained by NOT welding it the whole way?

It depends entirely on the part. There are cases where welding and not welding in certain areas can effect how the part flexes, and the durability that results from it. There are some basic rules of thumb. Beyond that it's a matter of understanding what's going on with the part and making the right seat of the pants educated guesses.
