Scott was not there so Jeff could not have gotten "spanked " to bad! I am already looking forward to next year. Wish I could join in the fun , but my Dark Horse Mustang is a year to new in age and about three decades to new in build style :( if I only knew then, I would have built one of the 66's or keep my 1962 Galaxie XL 390 car. Hope you guys keep posting , this is my favorite thread on the whole board! Larry

    Larry you crack me up!!!!
I think Scott needs to just show up.... be it good or bad.....I have done both.
It was never about being the top dog..... just being one in the pack.

James , I could not agree more. I was only 11 in 1966 but I was already car crazy. And in 1971 I was at Union Grove Dragaway testing my 16 year old skills in a 63 Catalina. It has always been about racing myself to see how much better and faster I could make what I had cause I have never had the means to be the top dog! But if I could get another second out of them I was King. Larry

I was not feeling so bad.....saw quite a few do the "5 Second Wall of Fame"....... a bunch lunched in the burn out and on the line. At one time there were 3 cars in a row being pushed past me back to the staging lanes. I was thinking...I know the feeling........and yeah blowers break parts.....

The Tri-Five Nationals were a blast... the Okie ran good and I think we put on a good show. We had about 10 Meltdown cars running.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I will look to start a new thread soon...

At the first Meltdown. Only about 30 of us racing.

It rained heavily the night before and on that morning, but it cleared for the afternoon to make it a perfect day. I broke parts that day, but I wasn't alone.

I've made it every year since, and will continue to do so as long as I am still on the top side of the grass.

  25. OK,..so where's the "pie crust "event thread?...and people want to know, is there actually going to be a pie eating contest?,...it's been suggested that if so, maybe the pin-up girls could be in that contest.
will there be a flagman starting off the cars?,..so many ?'s are popping up.

Okay everyone...here are a few updates:

The Fall-Out is September 29th and 30th at Rock Falls Raceway in Eau Claire, WI. This track opened in 1969 and used to be called Amber Green.

This is a very fun and low key event. We will race on Friday from Noon until dusk (about 6:30 pm) and then Saturday from 10 am until dusk (again about 6:30 pm). The track will open Thursday night for anyone to come in and park. We are finalizing times with the track right now.

This event is a big deal for the track and they want to make it their signature event each year....

Because we love you guys so much....one of the participating racers will go home with a brand new GM crate motor. Your odds of winning that motor are about 1 in 125...those are good odds.

If you haven't already done so, please e-mail your preregistration to [email protected]. We are going to have a "know before you go" to all registered racers go out next week.

    Uncle Sam's Pie Eating Contest....

This event is going to be awesome and it has a lot of buzz and interest. We are working out some of the details right now and will have more updates after the Fall-Out.

    Hope that helps fellas!
