I was thinking about this more today.... Even though I have never been to Viva, there has been enough drama aired about it, here on the HAMB, to keep me from ever going. Just my $.02 Remember, I have no first-hand experience, just have seen enough of it here on the HAMB..... and the Roundup rules. round up is farther away from me than viva, but I think the round up is a better event.I would go to round up.
Well it looks like we are most likely gonna do both. Been to VLV. What should I expect out at the round up? What is there to see and do?
Well, start here: http://www.lonestarroundup.com/schedule.html ...and do a search here on the HAMB for tons more info from previous years. There's also a Roundup forum that has been set up here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=49 The closer we get to April, the more info you'll find posted there. There's tons of things to do in Austin. If you get bored, it's your own fault. Malcolm
Cool! Thanks guys. Now time to do some research. I have heard good things, so I better not be let down. I know I wont!
My friend and I are the most indecisive people ever so this made it easy. We will see you guys at the Roundup. Thanks, Kurt
Great! Let us know when you are leaving - there are quite a few other Omaha guys going down there!... Do you know where you are staying at? Malcolm
I was checking out the hotels listed on the Roundup site. What is the boarding like? Do you need reservations for sure? I know its a large event but it looked like there should be a lot of places to stay relatively close.
If I were you, I'd make a reservation. Some of the hotels are already sold out..... Just one less thing you have to worry about when you get down there.
My $.02.....first off Austin is a bad ass town period. Personally I havent been to round-up yet but have always wanted to go. While viva is an experience, i know and have heard from friends in attendance that the round up is definately an every year kinda thing to see
