Back at the Maxi Taxi. In keeping with the Sprint car running gear theme I will be building an early type sprint car front axle. Used my 45 year old tube bender set up to push bend the 4130 tubing. I can also set it up to do sweep type bending on mild steel. Had to use my sons good pump. Off shore pump could not do the job.

To save time I was going to have an axle builder in PA build me 2 axles. One dropped and one straight for a future project. Agreed on price and I sent blue prints. Then emails and 4 phone calls he did not answer so I located a warehouse that sold me the materials I needed. 48 Fords had 8 degree KP inclination. I think they ran 1 degree positive camber. I drilled my axle with a 3/16" drill and checked it on the bench with a 3/16" rod. Perfect 9 degrees I want for zero camber. Then used a hole saw. Blue level to keep right a left KP's parallel. Yellow level for the KP inclination. Polishing before installing brackets. Welding. " I aint as good as I once was " "
