    Hi George:
The Hall Scott Invader looks like a beautiful piece of workmanship! Your friend Bud's cruiser Tahoe would be a dreamy place for an afternoon on the water. Thanks. TEB

Nice Campbell. Good friend of my dad had a 24' Biesemeyer from when they acquired the molds.

Thanks flying T, she's a 1974 Campbell CC with a BBC V-Drive. We still have some bugs to work out but she just went through a 2 year rebuild. Bulkheads replaced, every pice of wood inside was redone or replaced except for the stringers. Love this old boat and get lots of looks and thumbs up.

You can't beat a Campbell for a classic Parker/Havasu cruiser. When I was a kid in the 60s my dad carried one of their business cards with a line drawing of the hull in one of the windows...in front of my picture. He loved the profile of that early 20 but never got one.

Here is another picture of mine that I still don't know what it is. We have determined that it was probably a torpedo stern that somebody about 60 years ago cut the back off of it to put an outboard on. Would love to find a period picture.

A "new" boat, a Glen L design, with a 1959 Caddy taillight and Moon decal. It's not "vintage", but it is beautiful.

A 350 inch Chevy marine conversion (by Crusader) and a big fuel tank is all you need for all day fun.

I wish it were mine, and the guy that owns it had a large wart on the end of his nose. Craftsmanship is craftsmanship, whether it was built in 1925 or 2015.[/QUOTE]

BTW the "guy" that built the Glen-L is a woman...Roberta Hegy. This is at least the 3 rd boat she has built, as well as 2 airplanes, one an anphib. A great person and wonderful craftsman (craftsperson?)

While I was searching for a good picture of Bruce Crandell's "Flyer" for a comparison I came across several pictures you submitted to the Woody Boater site of your outboard conversion...what a amazingly cool boat and nothing like the Flyer. I guess it could have been a variation on his plans that were available at the time, and still are, but there are a ton of differences.
What have you done to her in the 3 years since you asked on that site?

this is what I thought it might be or at least resembled

Outta Sydney Harbour came Lewis Speedboats. This one has an original '60 'Vette dual quad 283, air cleaners & all. It's been in it since new. Pretty trick for 'down under'.

I haven't done anything with it. Really can't until I identify what it is or who built it. A restoration of the tail would be lots of money and without a period picture it would be a guess. I hold out hope that a picture will show up.

So I just might have a deal struck to pick up a 389 pontiac for this little boat and just wondering if that motor is "era" correct?? The boat is supposed to be a 1957??

I had a 1956 Aristocraft 'Torpedo' with 1964 Evinrude 65 hp. outboard motor for a number of years....I used to zip around in it on the Rogue River near Grants Pass, Oregon 1990-95. 010.jpg 011.jpg 013.jpg 012.jpg Ya' could:confused: 'kinda' :eek:ski with it, but it was a ton of fun, and a conversation piece! Then, some kids ran into me going too fast, with the worst kind of result...wish I still had it:(--- Ray

  30. Some amazing boats. This thread does bring back the memories.
Being an extremophile by nature, I have a penchant for the early turbine boats.
And even though Michigan is the "Big 3 Car state" we sure had some great boat builders.

Anybody remember John Hacker, Les Staudacher, Schoenith brothers, Guy Lombardo and boats like Tempo Alcoa, Stars & Stripes, Stars & Stripes II?

EDIT: The videos are courtesy of Mark Staudacher. I think he is still in the Saginaw area - I may look him up.
