    Hotrod clubs could approach the local City Council back then and organise a drag race meeting on the streets [closed for traffic]

    I'm confused here, those appear to be Ford GPWs, but Chevrolets in the back ground?

    Yeah the Snipe became extinct reasonably quick because of that.
    I remember running off the road coming down the Kaimais in one of those. The driver dozed off, I reached over and pulled on the wheel and back on the road and kept going , after destroying a farmers fence.
    They were tough old monsters.
