    It doesn't work that way. Even if you assume that the 400 HP engine may be "pulled down" by having to help the the 200 HP engine, the 200 HP engine is going to be "pushed up" because of the help from the stronger engine. It can still net out at 600 HP. Since the engines are connected to each other at the crankshaft, theoretically it's all one crankshaft. Think of two separate 200 cubic inch V-4 engines connected together at the crank. Now think of two 200 cubic inch V-4 engines in the same block. What you now have is a 400 cubic inch V-8 engine.

    the top on my '61 chevy convert was so old that it was a "bubbletop" at 70 mph!
