The last post - #101900 - has a shot from the rear of two pre WW2 Pontiacs along with some young ladies. Does anyone know anything about the license plates on these cars? I just note that they have very low numbers.

 

I grew up just down the road from Drakes store,just a wide spot in the road. HRP

1962 Shell 4000 Rally. First Place Studebaker Lark Daytona, second place Volvo 122, third Chevy II,

 

1963 Shell 4000 Rally. First place Chevy II second and third places Ford Falcon Sprints

 

1964 Shell 4000 Rally. First place Volvo, second place Chevy II, third place Ford Falcon Sprint.

 

1965 Shell 4000 Rally. First place Volvo, second place Ford Mustang, third place Ford Cortina.



Even bringing in Pedro Rodriguez , noted Grand Prix and sports car racer, did not bring Studebaker back into the competitive ranks.
