They didn't make many Airflow coupes, only about 300 in 1935. I have never seen a coupe in any of their ads. I don't know why they even bothered to make any.

Hmmm!! Fitting engine in my best clothes and with side panels still in place. That will be easy.

Very interesting; the tag says Universal Studios 1966 (and you can see the studio tour tram passing by). All the way in the back is a row of very derelict French vehicles; mostly Citroen and Renault cars and trucks. I wonder what Universal movie was using so many of them?

This is a great picture, sure looks like Lou Baney on the right.

It is Lou Baney, I think that is Louie Senter on the left. I have the book. It is full of technical articles. These two wrote most of the engine articles inside, along with body mods covered by Neil Emory and Clayton Jensen of Valley Custom.

  24. Again, this is image is almost certainly Photoshop!
Modern font on the dealer name signage. Weird perspective(s) on the wagon in the showroom and shadows on the T-bird, which is equipped with wheels that were not available in 1957.[/QUOTE]
I agree it's fake, but not so sure that a sign painter couldn't come up with that style of script. The biggest problem with the sign is there are no housing holes or electrodes in the neon. Look at the W ..it's all one piece..no beginning or end ..Can't light it that way!

It all makes sense .........but it may not be photoshopped!!!
It may be a (minature) work done by the great artist often found in these threads.
My vote is that it is a fantastic, detailed minature. Great job!!! Well Done !!
I am sure he is laughing as we read this.

I don't think any of those signs are neon. Or even supposed to be. I don't believe the venerable Ford oval was in favor during those years. The fact that the pic was taken, supposedly, after dark, the shadows are wrong and any good photographer would choose daylight over darkness to get good resolution. But it's all good fun, nevertheless.
