I remember growing up in the 60s in Edmonton Canada and seeing the milk man and his horse drawn wagon, used to feed the horse my apples from my lunch bag

Sadly, if you read between the lines, the picture's file title tells us the story here; 1956%20Chevy%2C%20El%20Camino%2C%20never%20finished%2C%20sold%20for%20scrap

We don't want the thread to drift toooo far afield, but it's certainly fair to say Detroit wasn't unaffected by such things. Here is Dagmar, and the front end of a Caddy with features that had the same name.

How many butchered project cars over the years met that fate.
I know of two "convertible" conversions that met that end.

I junked out someone else's ElCorvairino project. A 66 Corvair made into an elcmino. Tried welding the body and roof support together to water pipes for support, made the bed out plywood and bondo.

I bought it for the motor and transmission and a few other pieces.
It was a true hack job.

Happy times on the Ponderosa. Beneath all of the bodies is an Isotta Fraschini.

  8. Perfect! I like champagne, I like velvet, I like beer, I like false-front buildings, I like open cars, I like right hand drive, I like women in fancy hats, waist coats and high button shoes, and I like sepia tone.

    Derby hats, not so much.

I remember in high school when one of the kids drove to Texas and brought back a cherry 56 post, black and white, to Waukegan, IL. He put Torque Thrusts and new tires on it and raised the back a little. That car was IT. It was a revelation... somehow we knew that nose up for weight transfer didn't make sense anymore. Gary

Damn, I remember building a Soap Box racer!. Did pretty well with it too. Made it to Akron in 1970.
