Ran across a movie called Hot Cars on Netflix last night that is worth watching for the cars in it. Shot in SoCal in 1956 and features a couple real used car lots in Culver city, shots at Joe's at the beach, Santa monica pier etc. I was so busy looking at the cars in the background I did not pay attention to the plot:D

Netfix has lots of lots of old car movies
    Hot rod gang 1958
    High school hellcats 1958
    Highway dragnet 1954
The fast and the furious 1955
    And a whole lot more

I lived about a mile from this airport when this incident occurred. I remember hearing these F-86's fly over our house and the whole family wondering "what the hell was that?"

As a airplane crazy 10 year old, when i heard the news of the landing I hopped on my bike and went to the air port to see them. The Air Police got tired of chasing me away and finally let me get a close up look at the beautiful aircraft. Absolute heaven for about a week.

Of course not many people know that there was an original Monkeemobile that was not used in the TV show.

My dad built this Jeep in the 40's. Had a plywood and sheet metal body, the transmission was war surplus hydrostatic unit that was used to turn gun turrets on a ship. Had a 28 Chevy gauge cluster.
When the youngest (me) was grown up he sold it, wish I could find it.
Thats me driving in the first 2 pictures.

Looks like they hit something - the Left mudguard is missing, the chassis rail looks bent up at the front, and I think there's a wooden block between the axle and spring?
