its her little finger that you're thinking is her thumb,
ALTERNATE CAPTION - "Flashback
to 1937 - For reasons that the Nerdly
twins still couldn't fathom - and despite
their very best efforts, which
included wearing matching white
"imitation Naugahyde" shoes and stylish
new, 3-dollar "genuine burlap fabric" suits
from the 'bargain bin' at Woolworth's
- and at Silage's insistence - every
Friday and Saturday night - even
renting this, new, 'uber-snazzy', '37
LaSalle ambulance (complete with a
spotlight, dual side-mounts and a
working siren even(!), for use as a
'shaggin' wagon' on their always
hoped and planned for, but never
achieved, 'double-dates', - Silo and
Silage Nerdly still found it very
difficult- and actually, completely
impossible in fact - to make a hit
with any of the ladies in town!"

Hey I know this one, Independence Missouri "The Square" with the Jackson County court house (Harry S Trumans court) around 1956
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS MISSOURI
'36 is right, but it's a Studebaker.
From my family's slides, two from New Orleans in '61:
(400 block of Bourbon St.)
And one from my uncle when he was stationed in West Berlin in (I think) '56:
New Opels on display in the forecourt of the Kurfurstendamm Theater; the play on stage was Die Chinesische Mauer (The Great Wall of China, a few years before Berlin got its own not-so-great wall!)
See it on theoldmotor.com
Too late to go back to bed, so here are some more:
Colorado '58. Glad my folks passed on going to this spot.
Central City, Colorado '58.
Colorado, October '58. Can't quite read the name of the place, the T????? Motor Lodge.
The blizzard of '67 in Glenview, IL. The '56 Chevy 210 was my mom's car; had rust holes I could put my six-year-old fist through thanks to a decade of salted roads.
Solvang, CA May '64.
Both Santa Barbara, CA, first one was dated October '63, second probably '65.
Southern California (don't know where), April '61.
Catalina Island, December '65.
L.A.'s '52 Chrysler Imperial parade phaeton (upgraded by reskinning with '56 nose and deck). Took these in the staging area for the East L.A. Christmas parade in '85, but the film I was using had aged a bit.
OK, nap time...
Is that Shimp Howard ? Could be Moe with his hair slicked back
Solvang looks the same now as it did then, only more people......
Not unless Shemp had a place in Brazil... Note the license plate. However, also note the movie poster (in Portugese) for A Ceia Tragica, the local title for the 1944 movie Strange Affair - which featured Shemp Howard as a laundry truck driver!
The chrysler (two up) has "E' plates the city must own their own parade car.
From the album of dodge4me
Mike Britton asked:
"Are my new cataract free eyes deceiving me, or is her right hand on backwards!!??!!"
"its her little finger that you're thinking is her thumb,"
I think novadude55 is right unless her parents spent too much time at the uranium mine.
I took a closer look at the picture and I think that it's a prospective distortion caused by her finger pointing at the camera and her other fingers pointing down. you can just make out her thumb tucked behind her other fingers.
Mike I wonder if you might have a finger fetish I wouldn't have seen that if you hadn't pointed it out.
