OK, how the hell do you hit a Rhinoceros? Thats gotta be like broadsiding a schoolbus! I wonder if the impact killed it, or it had to be put down?

How do you hit a Rhinocerous?
How do you hit a deer?

Sometimes they just run out in front of you.........LOL!

    Actually, think about it.
Wasn't it in the news recently about a bunch of zoo animals being set free by their owner?
I'm sure more than once some escaped from some zoo.

My pics would not hold a candle to the great pics you guys are adding, especially Moefuzz, these are fantastic. No negativity meant by my comment just couldn't sit by without saying something. Bye the way, fully enjoying all the Marilyn Monroe shot, many I have never seen. Thanks oh and the cars are great too!

Also, is the only way to add a picture by having on a separate web site? Or can I upload from my computer?

  3. Funny! I've hit 4 deer with vehicles over the last 35+ years but no rhinoceroses yet.... Maybe I need some more practice :)

When I was about 16 I worked at an Animal Farm/Zoo/Traveling Circus - The Hippos and Elephants used to get loose - It was interesting getting a phone call from the Farmer (A family friend) in the middle of the night to get the damn elephants, Etc out of his corn field - We used tractors to herd the hippos and ear gaffs to lead the elephants home.

That's what I thought at first glance. Hoodsides, headlights and wheels are not Ford. Wanna guess again.

How, exactly did these things work? Did you put ice or water in them?

  16. Have a read here http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_vb3_attachments

If you need more click on 'FAQ' at the top of the page, but to simplify, just click on 'POST REPLY' down by the thread page numbers, then when the box pops up write your message and under that you will see MANAGE ATTACHMENTS where you have the option of uploading an image from either your computer or a URL

Hope this helps, OH and I hope the info is correct as I am a learner myself

Swamp coolers work on the priciple of evaporative cooling. You can make a simple dempstration by hanging a piece of burlap ifront of a box fan, then arrangine a pan of water so that the burlap wicks the water up its sruface. The when the fan is turned on the water evaporates casuing the air temp to drop. Kinda like when you wipe alcohol on your skin and feel the cooling as it evaproates. The problem is that they do not work well when the air is humid as it reduces the evaporattion factor. Whichis why you see them in the south east where the air is dry.

So inside is some sort of wick material, like jute, and a water reservoir, and the flow of wind while driving works it magic and directs cool air into the car. Probably really effective ones might to 8 or 10 degrees out of the air. Not a lot but better than nothing.

I have seen some that had a fan and were designed to sit on the trans hump and plug into the cig lighter to run the fan.
