Thxs for posting this. Its Billup's crossing, Grenada MS. Illinois Central railroad. It was the only one built, and was taken down in the 1970's. I've never seen anything like this in 40+ years of looking at RR things. It had an air raid siren attached, the neon blinked. What ever dierection the train came from, the arrow would light to warn drivers. I guess it was cheaper than an overpass, on a problematic crossing.
