Maybe my brain is misfiring, but for whatever reason, I don't recall seeing very many '59 Chevy convertibles "back in the day".

There were plenty of them where I lived. I nearly bought a pretty blue one(exterior. top, and interior) in Summer of '60 for $2,295 but passed on it due to low power drivetrain.

George, I got married to my first wife in 1961. This is the exact model and color of the '59 Chevy that she owned at that time. I had a 1959 El Camino. Soon after we were married reality set in. Her being pregnant and not able to work we couldn't afford these cars. We had to sell them and were happy to find a 1950 Chevy business coupe that the bassinet fit perfectly on the plywood floor. Such is life. Ron

I had a '59 Chevy, (2-door hardtop) but I just can't recall seeing very many rag tops. Of course, I can't recall what I had for breakfast this morning, either...

Hearing those "Mesothelioma commercials" on TV makes me think of the decades of asbestos exposure I've had doing brakes, building renos, etc... but I got nothing on this guy!

348, tri-carb 270 HP engine was the top HP in 59 Chev I believe. In 1964 I purchased a 348 tri carb, w/ 3 speed standard trans out of a wrecked 59 Impala ragtop, Put this in my 57 Chev 210 2 door sedan, first car at 16, I was on my way to a life time of "CarCrazy" still playing with cars at 73.
