Your house reminds me of the Clint Eastwood film called the changeling with Angelina Jolie. Probably the best dramatic role she has ever played. It was filmed in LA but has the same architecture as your house. But i guess it can be confusing as they have the same descriptions They are expensive They are dressed up They can have diseases They take all your money Most are used and dirty Many men have been inside Sometimes their bushes are trimmed Sometimes their bushes are not Some of them have reputations The carpet may match the drapes or it may not.. You can get an std because of them (standard tax deduction) They like more than one person in them There may be a bun in the oven They leak They smell They make noise when your working on them They can fit a buick inside They get packages delivered to them The mail man comes by daily Their water can break And they love plumbers caulk.. in their pipes And..... COOL THREAD! I live just outside Boston in Lynn MA, however I grew up in Medford which is where my car projects are, my familys house is 125 years old and was the second house in the area and was on farmland, complete with a huge barn which is where our cars are. 5 years ago I bought a house, a block from beautiful beaches (good for surfing) and the house is 135 years old, I did a complete renovation but maintained the original character, hope to add a small barn soon. I do have period correct looking decor such as vintage license plates, Boston Braves pennant etc. I did the initial reno in 9 months, it is 1200 square feet, perfect for me and my son who is with my half the week. Also the house I bought, unbenownst at the time was actually owned by my ancestors! Thanks vividlyvintage, I never saw that flick, but I suppose it does. But if I'm splitting hairs, in western architecture it's about ten years older than my place. The windows are a bunch taller and not too much of a porch. By about 1910 or so 'round here and in CA. they figured out that slightly smaller windows and larger porch overhangs keep the heat out of the house. Mine was one of the first houses here in Phoenix built like this and was considered quite an advancement at the time. Like I said, splitting hairs....

I am ten minutes from downtown Boston, 25 minutes to my familys house and 20 minutes from work...and am lucky there is a lot of urban renewal going on in my area, alot of younger people buying older homes fixing them up etc. Also 5 minutes to the Lynn Marsh Road a famed drag race / street race spot that goes back to the 50s..
Simple answer is yes. The thing that you have to watch about thse vintage whores is that they will put something on ya that Ajax won't wash off.
