I found an old Simitar video called "Night time fuel and fire" and it's basically Drag racing Explosions, I got to thinking does anyone have some cool early drag racing explosion/ wreck pics they might have stashed?
videos would be way bad ass! this is one of the coolest ones I have ever seen.

No one? is this a tabboo subject? cmon someone has gotta have some cool starting line carnage photos. I would love to find a pic of the 92 NHRA winston finals when the top flew off of a funny car and landed in the grandstands. Not that I like seeing people get hurt, I was there in the stands.

  6. That is actually why he may be posting this separate. Not everyone may want to spend a week going through a monster thread.

The avator is real and not an accident or mishap. It is a fire burn out I did with my AA/Fuel dragster earlier this year. It was featured in a full page pic in high Performance Pontiac magazine a few months back. It's just something I have always wanted to do. They were very popular in the late 60s and early 70s.

Here are photos of the Gorilla AA/FA from a crash in Alton Illinois on August 26, 1972. The crank broke in the lights about 160. The old man wasn't hurt too bad, beat up pretty good. Mostly his pride and pocketbook.
