Picked up an old Edelbrock Intake. It is marked “SU 349”. Could someone tell me what this means? It had 3 carbs(94’s) and is for a 8BA engine.

Knowing Edelbrock I'd say the 3 is for 3 carbs and the 49 is for 1949 which was a "new" model for Ford.. I'm open on the SU

I ran an Edelbrock SU 359 , it was 3 carbs for a 59 A engine (48 and older). Your 349, as Jimmy Six stated is for 49-53, the carb base mountings will be angled to tip the carbs forward, and have a oil filler, and road draft tube at the front.
