Some photos from Stout Field in I believe 1955 or 56...

Finally, a couple taken by our local newspaper article in August of 1957 about his success at the 1955 and 1956 WSODR (finished 2nd in his class both times). Note: my late Father, Larry Bronson (age 12) is also shown.

  6.(GROAN) LOL! That's such a bad joke that I'm embarrassed that I didn't think of it myself!;)

But now for the $64 question.

Who's piloting that sweet, black, backmotor, sidewinder car on the second page under the "1962 Lions" caption?

Even if you do not have ANY part of the car left. You should re-create it for folks to see and appreciate.

Love these three. 1966 Irwindale: Track-wear was made up of slacks, Pedwin or Hush Puppies shoes and white B&M Hydro-stick t-shirts, tucked-in. And combed hair. Those guys would stick-out like a sore thumb today.

  30. All the old magazine pics are great but the real jewels here are the snapshots. The candid stuff taken with old Instamatics in the pits that are a bit fuzzy and the colors are a little off. The shots of a funny car sitting in a dirt driveway behind a garage. The shots taken over the fence along the return road.

These aren't the "money shots". These are the shots with soul!:D
