I've thought about doing this for a while but finally got around to it today. It turns out a 14" dia. air filter fits perfectly under a 40's era hi hat cymbal. I received this cymbal from my uncle in the early 80's...he was a great big band drummer in the 40's and 50's. I used it in the studio a few times in the 80's but ended up putting it away cause it was more of a sentimental piece that i wanted to keep around and not trash on it. So today I had an hour to fab up a base and slap it together. Turned out GREAT! I know most folks wouldn't think about doing this...but this is just for me.... to have this finally being used again is awesome.
I bought a set of drums at a swap meet for my brother in law, he's a drummer and this set would be a starter set for his three year old grandson. I looked at the pedal and thought, man that would be a nice gas pedal.
Also got a hi hat stand too from him...the only drum pedal I would install...as others have done too!
