    Heya Rich-
Is that the Kenz and Leslie streamliner in powder blue in front of the Deuce roadster?

I may be wrong but it sure looks like it.

How cool would it be if true- two Denverites so close in one picture.

    very cool!

i'm not sure where i stumbled upon that pic.

what a wonderful guy jack is! he gave me everything but a bad time; from buying innumerable lunches to sets of hilborns; from harrowing rides in some really fast cars to some of the best memories of my life!

I started cruising this thread and can't believe my eyes. The technology evolution is incredible. I am trying to research Carl Kershings Wayne head roadster that he ran at Bonneville in '55,'56, and '57. Dad bought the roadster years ago and I'm going to restore it. Would anyone happen to have any information about the car or photo's??? I am a fanatic about detail and would geatly appreciate any help!
This is an amazing thread.... you all are amazing fans!

WOW! Drofrockology amazing photos. I recognize many famous cars, but this one winds me up! What a badass coupe. I would love to know more about it.

  17. Tom Hutchinson and Ron Hope ran this coupe. It ran one of Tom Sr.'s potent flatheads. Ron is now the driver of Jim Green's Rat Trap A Fuel Altered.

Tom and his son Jr. helped me with the 59a 4 1/8" X 3 5/16" Flathead I was building for my 40 coupe back in the 80's. We went through a few cranks and blocks before we found parts that were "use-able." He would say, "If it is cracked or unrepairable, just bring it back and we will find one that is good."

I talked to Sr. just a few months ago and asked if he was still in the Flathead business - he mentioned he had gotten rid of all or almost everything. He had a great collection of intake manifolds, cylinder heads, blocks, cranks and even a Cragar and an Ardun. He is 90+ years young and is still sharp!

I bought this chopped '34 Ford from Road Runner Gary Nicholls. He had planned to run it on the street an had installed Chrysler Power Windows. I also was planning to run it on the street and was storing it at a friends house. When he moved I needed to sell it fast, and Tom offered me $150.00. I also sold Tom a SCOT blower, for a flathead, for $100.00.

The rear 18" Halibrand mags came off of (former Road Runner) Doug Caruthers USAC Champ dirt car. USAC racer Eddie Miller (the body builder of the Fred Larsen/Don Cummins 'liner) had bought Caruthers' Champ car and asked me to try to sell the two sets of rear 18" Halibrands/tires. See this photo on the R&C site http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/thehistoryof/80458/photo_08.html The Larsen/Cummins Streamliner (and body buck) in foreground and Eddie's recently purchased ex-Caruthers Champ car in left rear. Tom bought one set of wheels/tires and Don Borquist (sp?) the other.

Here's Don Borquist's wheels/tires on the Bell & Embrey roadster, Bonneville 1966, that's Ted Pearson standing beside the car.
