I have a '28 Ford with an engine which I'm hoping is original but doubt. I see the VIN number on the engine. However, the plate on the firewall is unreadable. Is there anywhere on the chassis that may have on VIN stamped on it?

The VIN # is stamped into the chassis right at the left side forward cab mount, to see it the body has to be removed. From underneath you can look up and you'll see a cab mounting bracket riveted to the outside of the frame, the cab will have 2 bolts going thru this bracket (there is another single bolt coming thru foreward of this accessable at the firewall), the vin# will be stamped into the frame rail right at this bracket.
The stamping is on top of the frame rail and the body has to be removed to read it.
