Ok so I got the VIN off the cowl under the hood on my ford....however I cant seem to decode it...I tried on this website but I just cant make sense of it.... http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_serialnumber-patentplate_49-59partA.htm can someone help me??? Is there another website I can check??
The '49/'50 Ford ID #'s do not decode as much as you may like. The only thing they indicate is; numbers of cylinders, plant location in which it was manufactured (there were about 11) and the production sequence number. Post your VIN and I will post the breakdown..........it is available in The Standard Catalog of American Cars.......of which I have a copy. I did the same for my own '50 Club Coupe. Ray
B is a V8( i think H is the 6), then a number for the year--0 for 1950; 2 letters are the plant where it was built; the last 6 numbers are the car's production sequence #.
