Has been 7 days? Maybe some guy named Chip has it, and is currently smoothing it out, and putting some big billet wheels and 'cool' graphics on it!
Sorry, just trying to lighten the mood......

Actually with the go jacks and a roll off, it sounds like a very professional job, something like the "Gone in 60 seconds" crew would have done!

Did you notice any strange cars/people in the area prior to it happening?
Any "friends" that showed an unusual amount if interest in the car before it went missing?

  2. I was thinking the same thing.

Start checking Craigslist & ebay for someone selling '57 T bird parts in CA! You might find the thief that way. Crimnals suck!

"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."
"The dog did nothing in the night-time."
"That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes.

  5. Hey! I resent that:rolleyes:

Been gone a week and missed this one... Sorry to hear Chris...I'll be keeping an eye out around LB. Is there someplace that you have posted a detailed description of the car? (interior color, any slight dings or dents that might help ID it etc.) Sounds like they used one of those Gerr-Dan wreckers that can hook a car up in 8 seconds and be gone. They are real big with reposessors. Just a thought, but there can't be too many of those around the LA area as they are pretty price. Maybe checking records of sales for these units would provide a lead? Maybe there's a HAMBer with some level 5 clearance that could look into that? Or maybe the company itself could provide that info?

Chris, so sorry to hear the news, it super sucks. :(

Maybe I missed it in the thread, but is there something about your Tbird that could/would differentiate it from the million other black Tbirds out there?

really sickening that the top three stickies on the hamb right now are for stolen cars. I hope for a good outcome for all.

I feel your pain Chris. Whenever you have a car stolen it makes you feel like you have been violated. Will watch for it in Vegas.

Has any one called the T Bird shop in Santa Fe Springs/Norwalk area to see if they have seen anyone suspicious trying to sell them T Bird parts?

No news yet, I just spoke to the LAPD again and the insurance adjuster, interviewed me.
But after two weeks of a car being gone, chances of recovery are slim.

The car is gone, I'm sending in the the title, to the insurance company tomorrow, that means, the car is no longer ours.

    Lock up your cars, people.
