Steve and shari made it over today to get some more work done on the T today, we finally rounded up all the stuff for the rear suspension and stuck it all together, heres a pic of the setup
it basiclally consists of: overload automobile springs (the middle weight load) 2x2 steel square tubing 2 4-bar set up type bushings (wider version) an early ford drag link (shorted for the panhard bar) a u-bolt and lower plate kit from a local trailor parts place perches from the same some 3 inch od tubing (to center the springs) some pads for the springs to sit on and yet to come shock mounts Its a very simple set up and works fine, i didnt almost the same thing on my 34 p/u, funcional and cheap.

i can go measure it up tomorrow if you want, you may have to adjust lenght for the different engine, or just cut the firewall

Hello, If I am 'reading' the pic right the spring appears to be resting on the 2x2 tubing that extends past the rearend. Is this the case? Also is the 2x2 attached to the rearend with u-bolts through a plate? It appears to be such a straight forward solution .. so I figure I must be missing something Any comments would be great. Thanks. Are there Heim joints on the front? Just kinda wondering about up/down twisting motion if only one wheel is up. Looks neat.
How much of a drop on the front end? Do you have any pics of the front end put together like the side pic of it? I'm building a 29 A and I like that rear end setup. I was thinking about using ladder bars from jegs or some other supplier for the back of mine but I haven't decided on that yet. I bet the way yours is set up it will ride pretty good.
Laverda, your not missin anything, just a simple set up. we are just using 4-bar type bushings, it wont realy twist much the way its put together never realy measured the amount of drop, but heres the best pic of the front end, i would take a better pic but battery is dead and misplaced the charger!
the measurements of the frame are width at front: 26-1/2" width at rear: 38" overall lenght 120" the frame starts 8-1/2" in from the back panel of the body the centerline of the rear end is 8 inches in from the back of the frame
